The hole for the wall anchors needs to be slightly smaller than the width of the anchors.

For example, if the widest part of the anchor is 1/4" (5mm) wide then choose a bit size of 3/16" (4mm). This will make it easy to tap in the anchor but also ensure a snug fit into the dry wall.

We don't tell you a specific size drill bit because sometimes the wall anchors can change slightly from our suppliers. What is important is to choose a bit size that is smaller than the anchors but not so small that it's difficult to hammer them in.
